White Rose, An Organic White Tea with the Soft & Sweet Taste from Rosebuds
White Rose from Numi is an organic white tea with the soft, sweet taste of rosebuds. Also for the White Rose, Numi uses the whole tealeaf, making this a top quality tea just like fresh, loose tea is.
What is White Tea?
White tea is made from the youngest buds of the teaplant, the Camellia Sinensis. The buds are picked before the tealeafs are opened. All types of teas are made from this very same type of teatree. The difference in flavour depends on the prodcution process. Green tea, like the Gunpowder Green for example, undergoes the shortest fermentation process possible. Black tea, like the Aged Earl Grey on the other hand, is completely fermented. White tealeafs are barely fermented, creating a completely different taste.
White tea has a soft, subtle, sweet taste that becomes stronger if you let the tea steep for longer periods of time. In contrast to black or green tea, white tea does not become bitter when steeped longer. Due to the soft, flower-like sweet flavour, white tea is less suitable for drinking cold or as an iced tea. The flavour diminishes as the temperature decreases.
White Tea is Low in Caffeine
White tea contains caffeine, but much less than in green tea or black tea. It also contains the largest amount of theanine, which is an amino acid.
White Rose from Numi is suitable to drink at any moment in the day. Because the tea is low in caffeine, you can also drink White Rose in the evenings. Numi has also developed completely caffeine free teas, which are based on turmeric, called Three Roots and Amber Sun.
